Another busy Sunday

This Sunday my Mommy had some rituals to do for her ancestors. So She did not sleep much during the weekend. Infact she woke up 3.30 AM and called my San Yi (Aunt Michelle) to come to our place. Aunt michelle had to ride her cute vespa motor bike 4 AM in the morning from tampines (east end of Singapore) to our place (west end of Singapore). She is a very brave lady.

Apparently around 5 AM, my grand uncle came to our place and they all went to our ancestors grave to do the offerings and prayers. This is once a year mass event, part of the Taoist tradition. My mom wants me to learn some of these traditional things and keep it going in the family.

6 AM, I woke up and I was looking for my mommy. I saw Daddy, sleeping like a PIG. I made some noise and woke him up. I called for Mommy, she was not around, then daddy tried to explain to me where she went. We started playing, later he cooked oatmeal for me which I ate a lot compared to previous weekends' breakfast.

Around 9AM they all came back. I met Grand Uncle and my mom's cousin and saw my San Yi after a long time.

Later around 5 PM, we went to Expo to shop at the Robinson's sale. I got a new Mouse Mouse hairbrush for myself. Guess what, we met my San Yi! She was there doing her fair share of stimulating the economy buying things for my cousin Murphy.

After all that running around, I think I am having a bit of fever. I slept in the car on my way back home, and my parents did not bother to wake me up to give me dinner. Well they tried but I was too sleepy head. So I slept all the way through until 6 AM the next morning.

Bye Bye.

Stubborn Gums

Stubborn Gums.

This one week my gums are giving me troubles. Weird sensation. Aunt Janet got tired of telling me to stop putting my figure into my mouth. My mother said it's ok to use my finger to massage my gums.

They are encouraging me to do so in order to help my teeth erupt proper and quicker.
You see, at my age 20 months old, I shld have quite a full set of teeth - the first molars, canines, incisors & what have yous. The real picture is I am only sprouting my upper lateral incisors. and those two have been taking 2 months and still not fully erupted. For you readers who have no ideas - it means I only have 6 teeth todate.

Sitting Pretty

What more can my parents say?
Let the photos do the talking.

'Lego' stacking Progress Report

I like growing up. There are tons to learn and every day I am discovering and learning.
My mother is more advance (maybe by about 6 months) and logical thinking than my father. My father used to tell my mother buy toys and stuff for my age. Well, there's no need for mom to disagree. She goes ahead to get the stuff she wants like Lego which she bought them like when I was 14 months old. I agree with my mother. I love toys and things I can throw around with, my age or not my age, advance or backwards.

the 3-Stack high I did back in Feb'09.

The advance intelligent building I did 2 weeks ago (Mid mar).

I am not kidding, on my own. I did this one morning waiting for parents to be ready to take me to Aunt Janet' home. Though I need to improve on the foundation to get them more solid. They got knocked down when I stack it higher. And I haven't repeated the feat yet since. Architects are eccentric people, they work based on moods, inspiration.

See ya later. Aligator.

I recieved my certificates

Hi everyone, I am certified potty trained - pee pee. I am now aiming to advance certification in potty poo poo.

My certificates with photos below.

My pink potty from Ikea. I like it better to the blue one.

I asked for 'book' when I am doing my business. It's genetical - I'm afraid I inherited the habit from both my parents.

My results before being awarded potty-trained (Pee-pee)

Until next time, a break from potty stuff.

Sis Eugenia has Ballet exams, so Aunt Janet asked mom to take off and look after me. daddy was supposed to work on something important (His PhD proposal). He was not feeling well, having cold symptoms.

Mommy cut my hair this morning, just the front part only.

So Mommy and Me decided to continue stimulating the economy. We went shopping, buying some sleepwear and shorts for me. Weather is getting hot so mommy want to buy some hotpants too.

No winners at the cooking competition

Tonight was exciting. Around 5 PM Mommy, Daddy and Maid started brainstorming about my dinner. See these days I am not eating much, everything is boring.

So Dad came up with a creative solution. 3 of them cook something and see which one I like the most.

Daddy's dish is Macaroni and Cheese.

Mommy's dish is Japanese Rice and Salmon with Soy sauce.

Maid's idea is Meesua soup with Egg.

7 PM Daddy started doing his item. Came out in 10 minutes and I ate few pieces. Later I was playing with it and for the first time I ate few pieces myself.

Maid was cooking for mommy as mommy was busy feeding my macaroni.

Meesua soup was too salty I spit out the very first spoon. Thumbs Down.

Salmon was OK, but I was sick of rice so I ate few spoons to save mommy's face.

At the end of the day I am still hungry, waiting for Uncle Appu to come back with fried chicken and chips.

My potty training is coming along nicely, I managed to Pee a lot in the new pink potty we bought from IKEA.

Bye for Now

I am stimulating the Economy

Last Sunday Shopping at Daddy's Mustafa Center

This morning sun seems to be a bit shy to come out. I think the clouds are hanging around with their depressing recession kind of attitude. Anyway the fact that sun did rise in the east made me get up and get on with my weekend activities.

We picked up breakfast from McDonald's and headed straight to the Botanical Gardens. The place was more crowded than the slums of Mumbai that everyone is talking about. Hundreds of rich old orchard roadians of Singapore and their designer pedigrees walking and jogging in the garden, I was looking for a corner in the Billion dollar garden of Singapore.

Push mommy Push

I have been listening to BBC these days. No more cartoons, dad thinks I need to pick up good English, not the one he speaks or mommy speaks. I have been hearing about recession and economic DISASTER and all. They are telling me to go shop, so we went to IKEA. We bought a new table and chairs for me, a new potty trainer and a soft toy.

My new table and chairs.

Anyway, I am doing my best to stimulate the economy. Later don't blame me if things don't pick up.
God Bless Obama's Plan.

A Moving World - in a MRT Train

Mother & I, today commuting in MRT.

It's my 5th or 6th time commute in the MRT train, a public mass rapid transport.

How fascinating the sounds and colours the ride gives me each time. It's a moving cosmopolitan city. There are 'bookstores' - people reading all types of magazines, books. There are electronics stores in the train - people listening to their MP3s, using their lappy, checking out their cell phones. There are designer shops - people wearing expensive looking designer togs and rags, carrying their fancy totes. There are people talking. So lively.

Mother and I, an earlier train ride. In one of the afternoons.

I really like it. My mother likes it there with me too as I am at my quiestest. My mother always complains to me though that she hates it when my father has a night class to teach. It's a mad rush for her.

Potty Training

I did it !

I peed into the blue-coloured potty just this morning.
While eating my oat-rice breakfast, I said 'pee pee'. My father carried me out from the high chair,
plonked me onto the potty, shoved me some newsletter.
Only after some time, I got together, the pee song being sung by my bladder. My mother said it was the best tune she has heard. She wanted my bladder to sing longer.

No photos as it must be a shhhh.... affair. Once flashed and I would have gone diva-ed.

Why it took me so long to start using potty?

To tell you the truth, I was waiting for a cheap potty to pee. My mommy spend $65 for a Combi Designer potty and I was a bit worried to dirty such an expensive potty. Now that she go and buy a cheap one for $6.50 cents....

I can speak Malayalam???

Today my mom dialed the India number and pass the phone to my dad. He was busy doing his stuff on the computer. It was his dad on the other side, I mean my Grandpa.

Later he passed the phone to me and asked me to talk to Achachan (grandpa in Malayalam). Achachan asked me something, I said " I don't know" in my trademark style.

Later I mumbled the word "Achacha" when my uncle appu asked me who I was talking to. I can speak a bit of Malayalam. My mommy wants me my dad to speak malayalam to me, so that I can talk to my India folks a bit better next time.

Another thing I want to mention here is the fact that I managed to eat my toes, that makes me "Yogi Jaymin".

Yogi Jaymin.

Not much happening these days. Home, Aunt Janet house, Home.... And the new job of picking mommy up in the evenings.

Mommy reading stories to me.

Jehovah's Witness Came to our Door and ..

Time 7.45 PM on a Thursday Night. It was a chilly evening. We closed our doors a bit earlier than usual.

Knock Knock Knock...

Mommy was not happy " Who is that?" She thought it was some insurance agent or 'i-scream kids'. Two young ladies, well dressed started pitching in a well educated accent. "In this time of hardships we are going around, spreading the word of God".

Daddy interrupted "Not at this time, please." They walked away. Then he wondered "Could they be Jehovah's Witness". They heard him. Mommy asked Dad " What is Jehovah Witness". The lady in red dress walked back to our door. " Do you know about Jehovah's Witness?".

"Kind off" He replied.

"From Where ?" the lady was holding firm to our door grille.

"It is OK, I can't talk to you now. Later you will be talking to us for hours. May be another time." he tried to avoid them. The ladies walked away.

I think my dad felt bad about turning God's people away, so he told mommy about how well mannered and educated the Jehovah's witness folks are, sharing his experience with some of them in UK. Mommy was impressed and believe it or not, they ran after them to aplologize and to get their telephone number.

The moral of the story is they abandoned me again in the name of God.

Lazy Parents again

Sorry dear readers....

My parents are not good at keeping it going. They start and abandon, just like what they are doing to me some times. For instance, they will start playing with me and then after a while they get busy with their things.

A lot of things are happening these days, we are quite busy with activities. I wish I had the ability to do this blog myself. Dad has been busy with Academic conventions and education shows and Mommy has been working hard with Aunt Molly to make money for their company.

The most exciting thing we did this week end was Satay @ Lau Pa Sat. I like the place, there were lots of kids like me running around while their parents were eating Satay. I was tied to my pram and left with pain of watching others freedom. I was happy to be out much better than being stuck with "May I see Gemma" at home. (my maid always says "May I See" so Dad ave her the nick name May I See.

we are having satay @ Lau Pa Sat, Singapore.

Earlier Dad took us to eat Kerala food @ Swadisht in Lil' India. Mom gave me a bit of rice with curry. " Jesus, my toungue was burning like Bin Laden droped a Pakistani made bomb or something".

I promise to put all the pictures from our last weekend in a day or two.

Bye for now...
