About my India Trip

My Aunt Michelle carrying me, Changi Airport Singapore.

I have been wanting to write about my India trip for a long time.
It was my Dad's 2nd annual trip to Sabarimala (a temple in Kerala, India), that gave us the oppurtunity to visit Kerala. Me, Mom, Dad booked seats on SilkAir to Cochin.

After a long week of cold war between Mom and Dad, they called for Peace on the Day of India trip. I think my Mom gave up, as Dad will not change his careless attitude.

Uncle Appu came with us to Airport, just in case the checking lady say NO our enormous bags and tons of stuffs. It was just for a week but I think my mom packed the whole house. Aunt Michelle was there to help us check in.

After few hours of running around the airport, I was tired and hungry. Finally we got on board. Flight was packed and we were sitting next to this gentleman from Perth. I was giving him hell, kicked him so many times for fun, but he was cool. My Mom could not sleep, she was carrying me all the way.

Onboard Silkair to Cochin

We landed at Nedumbasserry Airport around 10.30PM local time. I was very sleepy and tired, we took a taxi to my Dad's home.

Next Morning, I woke up to the noises of a rooster, the cow and the temple music all in one go. I called Mom and asked her "Wake up, there is a festival" Mom told me "No la , here, it is like this every morning". She recalled from her last trip to Kerala. We went downstairs to see the cow and chickens.

with my cousin Achu saying hello to the Cow.

That evening my Dad was doing the ritual to go temple. This temple is on top of a mountain and he is going to hike the mountain at night with my cousins Achu and Rama and uncle Ashokan. Next morning they see God Ayyapa and pray for us. He did this ritual last year and this is the second time he is doing the ritual. Hiking a mountain on bare foot, he told me was tough last year.

dad doing the ritual, you can see my Grandpa (sitting) Ashokan uncle (standing), Achu and Grandma.

The next day they all came back and we started having fun. The best bit was the bath in the small pool . It gets hot in the afternoon and my dad fills up the water for us to play. You can see my greatgrandma watching us play.

More to come from Indian Trip.....
